Huw and Alex have been married since 2000 and have two children, Edoardo and Ludovica, from Alex’s first marriage. They met in Swansea and attended Pantygwydr Baptist Church before leaving in 2006 to serve with BMS. After training at BMS’ International Mission Centre they are now involved in long-term mission work in Italy.

Both love Italy for different reasons. Alex spent 13 years of her life in Italy and feels very much at home there. Huw first felt called to minister in Italy in 1990 and is grateful to BMS for the opportunity to fulfil that call.

Alex is a qualified, experienced EFL teacher and has a Masters degree in Italian and translation. After moving back to the UK in 1999, she was also involved in project work with young offenders, persistent school-refusers and long-term unemployed young people.

Huw has undergone ministerial training and initially they worked amongst the Sicilian Baptist churches but they have now moved to pastor a church in Matera, Basilicata, in the south of Italy.
