Andrene is an obstetrics and gynaecology doctor and James is an emergency medicine doctor. Although from Northern Ireland and Yorkshire respectively, they both trained in Edinburgh and have worked throughout the UK in their respective fields.
In 2006-07, they worked with BMS in the Kwai River Christian Hospital, a refugee hospital on the Thai-Burmese border.
In August 2010 they started serving at the Lamb Hospital in north west Bangladesh where, as BMS mid-term workers, they hope to serve the local population alongside Bangladeshi staff.
Lamb Hospital is a 150-bed mission hospital. Two-thirds of patients accessing medical help receive a subsidy from the poor fund. It is nationally recognised for its high standards and training.
