BMS World Mission

Maureen Russell

Maureen Russell
Throughout Maureen’s working life she has been involved in the caring services, mainly as a hospital social worker.

Since returning from service with BMS in D R Congo (1975 – 1987), Maureen has had many opportunities to continue her involvement with BMS. She served on General Committee for a number of years, and BMS Council of Reference. She is now on the Board of Trustees for the second time. She also chairs the joint Baptist Union of Scotland / BMS Planning Group for the Baptist Assembly in Scotland.

Maureen is a member of Hamilton Baptist Church and has undertaken regular speaking commitments for BMS in Scotland. Through her church she has been involved in two Church Team visits to support BMS work in Tunisia.

Her work routine is now being replaced by French lessons, and training to become a tutor of English as a spoken other language, and above all spending time with her husband, Ken, two adult children, and friends.
