BMS World Mission is working to make a difference in Zimbabwe.

The suffering caused by crippling drought, economic collapse and political oppression in Zimbabwe has been well-documented in the media.

BMS is doing something about it.

BMS has given £15,000 to its partner, the National Baptist Convention of Zimbabwe (NBCZ), for hunger relief in the areas of Gokwe, Gwanda, Bulawayo, Chegutu, Plumtree, Harare, Gweru and Kwekwe.

By targeting 100 households in each of these eight areas, NBCZ will provide approximately 4,000 people with:

  • corn meal
  • sugar
  • beans
  • cooking oil.

Food distribution will be co-ordinated through churches, village communities and some traditional structures, and recipients will be chosen on the basis of need, irrespective of race, religion, gender, age or political affiliation.
