BMS World Mission

Mission in Guinea (08/03/2010)

Simon and Solange Wood, along with their children Rafael and Beatrice, are working with the Evangelical Baptist Church in Kissidougou, Guinea and ask for prayer.

Teaching pastors and their wives

Please pray for our teaching at the national seminary for pastors.

Solange is teaching the students’ wives about ‘Women of the Bible’ each Friday afternoon. Her class will have 16 women and the lessons will be translated into three, maybe four, languages! It is an illiterate group and most can’t even understand French. Pray that Solange will have God’s wisdom and find an effective way of sharing God’s truth.

Simon's third year class
Simon is teaching on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. He is currently teaching the students on the book of Acts, Hebrews and history of mission. Please pray for God to speak.

"We praise God for the amazing privileges we have here of working on a national level with the biggest church in the country.

Mission visit

Please pray for Simon as he organises a tour to visit Guinean missionaries in the West of the country in the next two months. This will be with members of the Guinean Missionary Training team.

Pray that the Guinean missionaries will be encouraged by the visits and that the trainers will be able to explore the area in order to plan for the future. Pray for good health especially as travel here is tiring and half the group became ill towards the end of the last tour!

Rafael with Sunday School friends
Please pray for Rafael (seven years old in June) as he continues to be taught by his mum. Pray that relationships he makes with Guinean children will be good for him.

Pray for Beatrice (two years old in May) as she makes the change from nappies to the potty!

Please pray for wisdom and God’s love in all our relationships!
