Reports say that over 700 people were killed and some areas have been completely destroyed. Thousands of people have lost their homes and do not have enough food, water, basic supplies or electricity. Looting has become a major problem in Chile’s second city, Concepcion.
Raquel Contreras, president of the Union of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Chile, is following up on local Baptists in the aftermath of the quake.
While rescue efforts continue and international aid arrives, we are encouraged to pray.
