Baby for paralysed mother (25/02/2010)

In 2008 we reported on Drupati, a 25 year-old lady who was paralysed from the waist down after being shot. After receiving treatment for her wounds and rehabilitation to help with more independent living from INF Surkhet, she returned home. After returning from the UK to Nepal in January, Megan Barker, a BMS occupational therapist working with the International Nepal Fellowship (INF), heard the happy news that Drupati had given birth to a daughter, by normal delivery. Megan says, “The work to get her home and functioning was an uphill struggle but what great joy now!”
