BMS World Mission

New wall, new loos, new year! Thank you!

20/01/2010

The Baptist Mission Integrated School (BMIS) in Mirpur, Bangladesh offers education and accommodation for around 100 visually impaired girls. Overall they provide education for 200 students.

At the end of July last year the school was inundated by 33 centimetres (13 inches) of rain in six hours.

With your help, BMS sent a £10,000 relief grant to the school. Sylvia Mazumder, Principal, sends her thanks:

“The students, staff, and teachers of BMIS are most grateful, and express their sincere thanks to friends, supporters and donors of BMS World Mission for their generous donation that has helped in the repair and restoration work of our school following damages caused by rain last year in July 2009.”

“We were able to rebuild the school's boundary wall on the east side that had totally collapsed, and repair and paint the classrooms, office, and girls' dormitory.

"[We were able to] repair latrines, construct a sick room, install a safety grill and replace furniture in the classrooms, dining hall and the dormitory.”

“This would not at all have been possible without your help.

“We pray that our good and gracious God rewards each and every one of you for your act of kindness and generosity to BMIS. We wish you a blessed and peaceful new year.”
